Unknown virus is an artistic dance crew that dances contemporary house and more specifically, the art that we do is a combination of isbujwa “house” and contemporary. We named the crew Unknown Virus because we are ‘unknown’ in the entertainment buzz but once you see the kind of art we do, you get infected with a ‘virus’ that keeps you dancing none-stop.
- We are all based in Protea Glen, Soweto and we are actually busy with a theatrical play called Contemporary House that we are going to go on tour around the country for, very soon. Our goal and aim is to take this kind of dance internationally, do a documentay on it and have our very own reality tv and radio show: talking and showcasing our artistic movement.
- Being featured in the Market Theatre news letter, perfoming at the annual Miss Soweto, Viva Valia launch, Orlando Childrens Home and one of our dancers being part of the World Cup closing ceremony are some of our career achievements.
- We are thankful for what our lord and saviour Jesus Christ has given us, of which is pure artistic talent and for providing us with beautiful souls that surround us i.e our fans; Ntsika, Phindo and Sipho of The Soil, Refilwe (Investec) and our partners who all have been very supportive and have given us a guideline to help us stay right on track.
The lessons that we have learnt is that success doesn’t come only by dreaming but by taking action and stepping out to reach that path, and that if God is for us who can be against us?
